Welcome to the Mount Olive Baptist Church

Greetings

Mount Olive is a historical church in the city of Atlanta. We are a church with open arms and loving hearts. We thank you for visiting our site and ask that you worship with us on any Sunday morning or join us for Bible Study on Wednesday nights.

We love the Lord here on the "Mountain" and it is our sincere prayer that you encounter the presence of the Lord at Mount Olive and that your needs will be ministered to by the Spirit of the Lord.

If you do not have a church home, please consider Mount Olive and become a part of our church family. We have and are developing ministry opportunities to serve our community and which will give you a chance to use the gifts God has given you for the spreading of His word in the Kingdom.
Again, thank you for considering Mount Olive and know that you are welcome at any time and at all times.

Church Philosophy

We at Mount Olive believe that the Christian Church is a company or group of disciples (followers) baptized on a profession of their faith in Jesus Christ and united in covenant (sacred agreement) with one another to maintain the ordinances of the Gospel through public worship of God.

As members we commit ourselves to live Godly lives, to spread the knowledge of Jesus Christ as our Savoir and to show ourselves approved unto God, workmen unashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The primary mission of the church is twofold:

  • Reaching the lost.
  • Teaching the found.

We recognize Jesus Christ as our Supreme Lord and Law giver, and take His Word as our only and sufficient rule of faith and practice in all matters of our existence.

We believe that the greatest work for the church is to be found in our communities, whereby through our efforts to assist the less fortunate in meeting their basic human needs we show forth the compassion of Christ and open the door of opportunity to give witness to the saving and redeeming power.
